Welcome!
In my previous life I earned a PhD in Sociology at Columbia, and worked many years in the fields of social research, data and policy.  I've always had a camera around, a hobby of sorts that also brought me so much joy.  While I never thought formally of myself as an artist, my longtime interest in people in their environments and relationships carries through to my life as a photographer.  

My photos merge commercial photography with fine art and design.  I aim to go beyond the obvious of what we see, to make the viewer want to engage a little longer in the delight of the picture.  My images are naturalistic and candid, yet at the same time I work to control the elements of the frame, with playful composition, color and patterns to evoke deeper meaning about my subjects - their humor, emotion, energy and unmistakable NYC vibe!
